The Public Program of Art and Archive: The Emergence of the Archive in Contemporary Artistic Practices is an international platform of lectures, conversations, and public events accompanying the permanent seminar coordinated by Ulises Matamoros Ascención. Its purpose is to expand the research developed within the seminar by creating a meeting space for artists, curators, researchers, educators, and students interested in the archive as an artistic, curatorial, and knowledge-producing practice.
Through an annual program of lectures delivered by national and international guests, the project fosters the exchange of ideas, critical discussion, and collaborative networks centered on contemporary art.

Methodology
The program is developed through keynote lectures, public conversations, and online encounters with invited specialists. Each session becomes part of the seminar's pedagogical process while contributing to Chasen Thajni's documentary archive, building a collective memory of artistic research and education.
The 2026 edition opened with the lecture "Curatorship as a Collective Device and a Form of Translation," presented by Giovanna Maroccolo, who explored curatorial practice as a collective, critical, and democratic process capable of generating spaces for organization, dialogue, and collective action.
Invited Participants
The program has featured artists, curators, and researchers including Lenka Holíková, Miguel Cereceda, Leslie González, Giovanna Maroccolo, Armando Ruíz, and Dayro Carrasquilla, forming an international network that enriches the seminar's academic and research activities.
