ABOUT US

CHASEN THAJNI

everyone's house

We ARE a space that summons and gathers our maternal voice, to shelter and protect it, but also to "break the historical silence" in which we have remained: to echo the need for listening; to affirm the need for our presence and our voice.

WE ARE a space of confluence, meeting point and also of transits, to provoke dialogues between our original knowledge and diverse thoughts.

We ARE a hospitable abode, which welcomes and shelters various actors to maintain meetings and serious dialogues with our community.

WE ARE an entity that takes, manages and manages our own spaces for our voice, and summons in them what by right we co-respond.

PROJECT

Mu.Pa Museum

We do not forget that the historical conformation of the "museum" institution is crossed by constant looting, theft and trafficking; but also by fictional inventions, and successive enunciations of wealth and public power; nor do we forget the sincere taste for the safekeeping of valuable objects, the will to organize knowledge, the excessive love for memory kept in the form of a collection, and of course we do not forget the aesthetic dimensions that emanate from that collection.

It is necessary that a Community Museum generates in an autonomous and self-replicating way the universe of objects- and not objects- that it will protect. Under this premise it is necessary a curatorial-critical, that without ceasing to be popular, or precisely for this reason, dimension the just symbolic value of objects, also understanding that under "the symbolic" the affective dimension that certain knowledge holds in a given social group, in this case the ngiba group.
